Great Weapons in Medieval Times
Armor was for protection and a way of defining a fighter as a military unit and their social class. Armor was very expensive, only the wealthy could offord armor. One of the first armors was chain mail. It was maide by thousands and thousands of interlocking rings. Underneath the metal armor there was a padded garment called the “aketon” or “gamebeson.” Once crossbows came out chain mail was not an affective armor. In the late thirteen hundreds plate armor was being used. In the 15 hundreds full body armor was being used. Soon, gunpowder was being used more accuratly and armor was innaffective.
